"On November 26th, ARGON, my new album, will be released. Strange cover, isn't it? I hope not to abuse your patience and your time (if so, I already apologize), but I'd like to explain the reasons for this strange cover.
Argon, (from the Greek ἀργός –όν, that is "refractory to action, lazy") is a chemical element: it has Ar as its symbol and its atomic number 18. Argon, together with Helium, Neon, Krypton , Xenon and Radon, is part of the group of noble gases, noble because they have the characteristic of not combining or combining with the other elements with difficulty. At one time it was also said, suggestively and evocatively, inert and rare. "Argon" is also the title of the first short story of "Il sistema periodico" (1975) by Primo Levi: autobiography through the 21 elements of the periodic table, which become the starting point for short autobiographical narratives. In addition to being a writer, Levi was a chemist. In the story "Argon", Levi describes his Piedmontese Jewish ancestors, who lived, in an attitude of dignified abstention, on the sidelines of society by force, but also by choice.
I expanded Levi's metaphor to talk about the artists in this album too: they too are marginal, yet never marginal. The artists' work is often secret and, except in rare striking cases, neglected. Instead, it is fundamental for the survival of the world, like the equally secret and forgotten work of bees and earthworms. The world survives, almost without realizing it, also thanks to bees, earthworms and artists.
For this, and only for this reason, I had the courage to make another album. The cover was born from an idea of Milo Scott. Mine, on the other hand, is the responsibility of choosing the colors of the anarchist flag ".
